Maybe It’s You is book three in the Crisis Team series. It can be read as a stand alone novel if you haven’t read the earlier books. The only thing I feel that you will really lose in doing this, is understanding exactly how much Sloane has changed since the previous stories. It is a very drastic change. However, the author does a good job of catching the reader up if they don’t know the things that have happened in the past few years in Sloane’s life.

Sloane was definitely a character that I did not like in the previous books. It was eye opening to see what had occurred in her life to mold her into the person she was. It made her determination to change so much more meaningful and helped met to understand her better.

Micah was a great character. He was kind and honorable, yet struggled with an anger that he really never worked through from a past event. This anger and judgment did cause some problems in the story and it was quite a turning point for him when he realized that he needed to get over the things that were holding him down. I really enjoyed the development of Micah and Sloane’s relationship. It felt very realistic and natural.

The author did a very good job of creating troubling situations not only for the main characters, but also for a group of side characters. She kept me guessing about the way everything would work out and surprised me toward the end of the story with one reveal in particular!
