What's in My Purse

Here we go! A purse post. The clean purse version ;) These are the staple items that never ever leave my bag.

My wallet: Obvious, right? My favorite wallet is my Michael Kors (pictured), but then again, I love all things Michael Kors. I've used it so much that the name plate is scratched and dull :\ Sign of a beloved and faithful purchase.

Merle Norman blush: I love how blush seems to wake up my face. This brand used to be a "grandma" brand in my mind, until one of my friends started working there. She ended up doing the makeup on my wedding day, and that's when I started using (and loving) this brand.

Chapstick: I waffle between The Gnarly Whale and Chapstick brands.

Hand sanitizer: Almost exclusively the Bath & Body Works brand, in the warm vanilla sugar scent. Most hand sanitizers are too medicinal smelling to me and that makes me nauseous. This one makes my hands smell amazing! And the scent isn't too overpowering, which is good because nothing annoys me more than when a woman puts on perfume/lotion/sanitizer that smells WAY too strong and leaves everyone around her feeling sick (or worse, tasting the scent!).

My iPhone charger: I probably use my phone too much because right about 5/6 pm, the poor little battery is almost completely drained. If I keep a charger with me, I never have to stress about being stranded somewhere without a charged cell phone. This girl's gotta stay up-to-date on her Instagram feed. Hint: Wrap a piece of washi tape around your cord and label the cord with the device it charges! Saved me tons of time when digging through all my cords to find my iPhone, Kindle, etc. cord.

Pen: While my favorite pen changes constantly, the Target dollar spot pens tend to make the top five list frequently. They are so fun and write surprisingly well.

Lotion: A must have in the winter especially! Since I don't like overpowering scents, it's a challenge to find a great lotion. A few months ago, Birchbox sent me the Tocca hand creme in the Cleopatra scent. It's a mix of grapefruit and cucumber. On first glance, I thought I would hate those two scents together, but they are surprisingly delicious and subtle. Plus, I'm a huge fan of how moisturizing it is.

So that's what I carry inside my purse! What do you typically carry or can't live without?
